1. Abraham Doolittle,1 son of Edward Doolittle 2 and Elizabeth Baker,2 was born in 1620 in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England, was baptized on 20 Aug 1620 in St Mary All Saints Church, , Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England,3 died on 11 Aug 1690 in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut4 at age 70, and was buried in Center Street Cemetery, Wallingford, New Haven, CT.5 Another name for Abraham was Dowlittel.

He lived at Kidderminster until about 6 years old. He then went with his parents to Birmingham. He grew up in a bustling city. Due to his religious upbringing he along with his brother John decided to migrate to New England in the 1630's. He spent some time in the Boston, MA area but soon migrated to the New Haven, CT colony. He took the oath of Fidelity, 1644 & was made the Chief Executive officer of the colony before he was scarcely 24 years of age. He was prominent in colony affairs & was chosen 7 times to be a deputy from New Haven to the general assembly at Hartford. He was awarded money (5 pounds)for keeping the Indian, Taphanse, 15 Oct 1662. He eventually explored & settled Wallingford, CT, after 1667, where he became a community & church leader. He is the immigrant ancestor of our Doolittles of America family organization.

Abraham married Joan Alling.,6 daughter of James Alling 7 and Margaret Coppin,8 about 1645 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. Joan was born in , , , England, was baptized on 12 Oct 1617 in Kempston, Bedfordshire, England,9 died about 1660 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut10 about age 43, and was buried in New Haven Green Cemetery, New Haven, New Haven, CT. Another name for Joan was Allen.

There is no record of this marriage. The date is estimated based on the birth dates of children and the location was most likely New Haven.
